How can intelligent systems and services be utilized in real estate development and the housing community? The Dwell project aims to find solutions to this in cooperation with the project target audience, The University of Lapland, TEQU and FrostBit. The test environment of the research project is DAS Kelo apartment in Rovaniemi, where a joint mobile application for residents and the housing association is produced. User-centered approach in the design can produce intelligent systems which enable new types of communal housing and services.
The expertise of FrostBit’s web and mobile team will focus in the project especially on the production of the Kuluma web application, background service and mobile application. The Kuluma app has been made for test use in the DAS Kelo, and it can be used to monitor water and electricity consumption per apartment as well as compare it with the house average. In addition, the app provides an opportunity to chat with both the other residents, the landlord and app developers.
Check out the Kuluma app beta on the TEQU website (in Finnish).
